Shwetha has a PG diploma from Asian College of Journalism. She was the Former sub editor with Indian Express, Bangalore and Kochi, as well as Former Kerala contributor to The Womens Feature Service, New Delhi. Other publications include The Outlook Getaways, Times of India,  Humanscape and Grassroots.

Currently contributing to The Hindu Sunday Magazine on developmental issues, specifically regarding Kerala.
