Ranjita Biswas

 

Ranjita Biswas is a journalist, author and translator, based in Kolkata. She has won KATHA and other awards for her translation of fiction from Assamese into English, including the ‘Best Translation Prize, English, 2017’ from the Sahitya Akademi for the book, “Written in Tears.”

Biswas is a prize-winning author of children’s fiction. She likes to write stories with the backdrop of India’s North East and also likes to ‘retell’ folk tales from that region. Besides, she writes travelogues and short stories. There are nine published books to her credit.
